The La Vita series is a play on the Bargetto’s Italian heritage. This wine is a blend of grapes native to Northern Italy and it is produced in a truly authentic Italian style. By producing this wine the Bargetto Family brings a piece of their history to the modern world of California wine. Grapes, winemaking style and passion are blended together to make this unique wine year after year.
A blend of Dolcetto, Nebbiolo and Refosco from the Regan Estate Vineyard are used to make La Vita. Although these grapes can make great varietal wines on their own, as a blend they tell a story that goes back to their Italian roots. To make this wine we take a page from the Italian cellaring technique by extensive aging in barrel and in bottle before the wine is ever released to the public. Most California wines are released a year or two after harvesting. The La Vita spends no less than 2 years in oak barrels and at least one year in bottle. And finally, the passion that goes into bottling this wine shows in the details of the package itself; each bottle is labeled, waxed and packaged by hand. Our cellar and bottling staff spend weeks perfecting each bottle before the yearly release party in June.
We truly hope our passion for La Vita shows in every bottle, every vintage and every glass. Saluti!
