Sustainable Winery Practice for March
Installing skylights in all new roof projects

Skylights in the cellars at BARGETTO WINERY

Sunlight is free and saves on electricity. Skylights help by reducing electrical

lighting needs, which in turn cuts down on global warming. In several sections of the winery, including the laboratory, fermentation room and tasting room skylights have been installed for decades. In our new roof over the barrel aging area of the winery, two skylights were recently installed.

Last year, the 62 year old cedar shingle-roof was replaced and four large skylights were installed. These skylights will provide free and natural lighting for the cellar; while cutting down significatly on the electrical needs in the main wine cellar.

This is good for our monthly bills and for the environment.
