The Santa Cruz Mountains is a beautiful area, which overlooks the ecologically diverse Monterey Bay Sanctuary. We believe we have a duty to do our part in maintaining and improving this natural beauty while being good business citizens of our community.<\/p>\n

As winemakers we not only strive to produce outstanding wines but also to do it in a way that minimizes our impact on the environment.<\/p>\n

There are three aspects (known as the three \u201cE\u2019s\u201d) to winegrowing sustainability as it applies to both our Regan estate vineyard and to BARGETTO WINERY operations:<\/p>\n

\u2022 The first is Environmentally<\/strong> Sound, in which we strive to grow grapes and produce wines in a \u201cgreen\u201d manner. Our use of solar electricity in the vineyard and the insulation of cooling pipes in the winery help create and conserve energy.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The second is Economically<\/strong> Feasible, in which we maintain practices that allow our winery to continue our long family winemaking tradition. Thinning of crop in the vineyard and consistently releasing high quality wines keep long term customers.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The third component is Socially Equitable<\/strong>, in which we strive to retain long term employees and financially support our community. We accomplish this by providing health care to our employees and by giving back to our community, especially through the LA VITA wine program<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We are pleased to announce that in August 2018 Bargetto Winery\/Regan Vineyards were formally certified as a sustainable winery and vineyard by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance<\/a>.
