DOUBLE GOLD-2013 MONTEREY COUNTY PINOT GRIGIO
The Bargetto Monterey County Pinot Grigio is introduced with its light straw color and perfect clarity. Vivid aromas of stone and tropical fruits blend nicely with honeysuckle and hints of rose petals. Ripe white peaches, honeydew melon and pineapple aromas develop as do nuances of clean minerality, which one would expect from cool-climate Monterey County fruit. The palate is fresh and fruity, showing bright grapefruit and sweet pear and apple flavors. The finish is smooth with a nice kick of acidity followed by a subtle sweetness that lingers on the finish. This wine should be enjoyed young, preferably on a nice sunny day by the ocean. Best parings include, but are not limited to, spicy Thai food dishes, grilled Mahi Mahi and sushi!
Retail price: $16 ($12.80 Wine Club)
